In 1980 a Porsche was the first and only car sponsored by Apple. Owned by the Dick Barbour Racing team, the 1979 Porsche 935 K3 sported the AppleComputer name and rainbow logo colors.

“The idea [de Apple] Sponsoring a race care came from Bob Garretson, who had a race shop in Mountain View, just a few miles from Cupertino. In 1980, Jobs stopped by Steve Wozniak to geta job done on his 356. They all got along. Soon Apple Computers became the title sponsor of the Garretson racing team.”
